Gingerbread House Assembly
For a basic gingerbread house with four walls: Place your gingerbread pieces on your base so that the four corners are touching. Apply a bead of "frosting glue" along the base, and along the sides of each piece (See picture below).

Stand-up each wall, connecting pieces to each other at sides. If needed, prop walls (soup cans work well).
After walls have dried, apply a bead of "frosting glue" to top side of each piece (where roof piece will touch). Place roof pieces on top of wall pieces. Hold for a few seconds until the frosting has set.

Sequence of Events
- Cut-Out Gingerbread house paper pattern pieces and tape paper pieces as necessary
- Prepare Base to fit Gingerbread house
- Decide if you want lighting for your Gingerbread house
- Roll-out Gingerbread dough
- Cut-out Gingerbread dough pieces
- Cut windows as desired
- If you are wanting pre-baked candy windows - sprinkle with chopped hard-candy into cut-out window areas
- Bake Gingerbread pieces
- Let Gingerbread pieces cool completely
- If you are wanting post-baked windows - set cooled Gingerbread piece onto aluminum foil or Silpat matts and pour hot hard-candy into window areas.
- Secure lighting to base where desired
- Make frosting glue (Royal Icing)
- Decorate walls & windows and then assemble Gingerbread house - OR - Assemble Gingerbread house and then decorate walls & windows
- Decorate roof & chimney
- Decorate yard
- Add pool, pond, or stream
- Add fence
- Sprinkle snow (coconut, powder sugar, white sparkles, etc) on yard
